Links to sites and agencies that can assist you in getting a long term rental in Berlin

Are you planning to visit Berlin for more than just a few days or a  1 week holiday? Maybe you want to live in the city for 3 months or more? If this is the case it's not very attractive to stay at a dirt cheap hostel. Below you'll find some info and helpful links that can aid you in finding an inexpensive apartment in Germany's capital.

Craigslist
Craigslist's section for Berlin is fairly active. It's a lot of apartments listed in the "vacation rentals" section. Usually there's 10 or more added each day. These apartments are usually rented out for a few days, a week or more. If you approach one of the owners of these apartments and tell them you want to rent it for a longer time you can haggle down the price a bit.

A small studio in the Mitte districts rents for 30-40 EUR for 1 night. A big loft apartment in Kreuzberg goes for 800 EUR for one week.

Berlin Craigslist's other apartment sections are not that active. You are likely to find a few listings every day if you look around.

Crocodilian: Rooms in Berlin
This site is run by a company who rents out a lot of apartment on the behalf of their private owners. The apartments are rented for a minimum lenght of 1 month, but a lot of them requires that you rent them for at least 3 months.

Price example: The site lists a 2-bed apartment in Prenzlauer Berg for a monthly rent of 600 EUR.

Lots of photos on this site.

Zimmerfinder Berlin
This is also a nice site to do a search. It's a German site, but they have an translated version in English as well.

A very useful thing about this site is that you can search in a specific area. Do you only want to find apartments in Mitte? Then the site's search engine can do it for you. A lot of apartments are listed.
